Li Shuangping

CHINA

On June 20, 2025, Li Shuangping, a key member of Golden Lampstand Church, was sentenced to nine years and two months in prison, along with a fine, on charges of “fraud”.

According to China Aid, Li Shuangping and eleven other Golden Lampstand Church leaders, which included his wife, were detained on August 7, 2021, during a government campaign which targeted their church for refusing to join the government-controlled Three Self Church. The government accused the Christians of fraud because the church was collecting money in the form of tithes and offerings to support the ministry.

During his time in prison, Li has written many poems expressing his steadfast faith, in which he writes that he is willing to “wait in silence, without complaint or regret”.
