On 30 June, 2020, authorities arrested Malihe Nazari (48) at her home during raids on a number of house churches in Tehran, Karaj and Malayer. Malihe is a member of a women-only house-church in Tehran known as One Heart. During the raid on her home, Malihe’s computer, mobile phone and several books were confiscated.
 
In August 2020, Malihe was released on bail.
 
On June 7, 2022, The Tehran Revolutionary Court sentenced Malihe to six years in prison for ‘founding or leading an organisation that aims to disrupt security”. She appealed her sentence, but her appeal was rejected in August 2022. On August 30, 2022, Malihe was taken into state custody to begin serving her prison sentence.
 
Malihe is the mother of two sons, the eldest of which has reportedly been battling cancer.
