In June 2020, Mina Khajavi was arrested during raids on a number of house-churches in Tehran, Karaj and Malayer.
She was released on bail on 20 July, 2020 after being detained for 20 days. Mina had been blindfolded throughout her detention to prevent her from knowing where she was being held. When released, she was dropped off at an unknown location in Tehran, and had to borrow a phone to ask her family to come and find her.
In October 2021, Mina was summoned to give her defense at the Evin prosecutors office.
On 7 June, 2022 Mina was sentenced to six years in prison. She appealed the sentence, but her appeal was rejected on 17 August, 2022. Finally, on 29 August, 2022 she was summoned to begin her sentence in 24 hours, but after doing so she was permitted to return home for up to six weeks in order to recover from a broken leg.
