Ramin Hassanpour is married
In February 2020, Ramin Hassanpour, his wife Kathrin, and two other fellow converts, were arrested for practising their faith.
On May 14, 2020, they were sent to Lakan Prison in Rasht after being unable to afford the bail set for them. They were temporarily released later that month after their bail was reduced.
In August 2020 Ramin was sentenced to five years in prison for “Acting against national security by attending house-churches” and “Spreading Zionist Christianity”. He appealed his sentence, but his appeal was rejected in September 2020. Ramin’s wife received a two year sentence.
Following a summons in February 2022, Ramin turned himself in and began his prison sentence.
